Facility areas

Genuine stills from the on-site walkthrough are now in place for the cage rows, the warehouse and the feed & water lines. The rest describe the area accurately while photography is pending.

Multi-tier battery cage systems

Our high-efficiency multi-tier industrial battery cage systems house thousands of laying hens in evenly spaced rows, maximising space while maintaining hen welfare standards.

Climate-controlled warehouse

The main production warehouse features a metal-roof structure with controlled airflow and natural lighting along the cage aisles, keeping hens comfortable year-round.

Automated egg collection

Automated collection belts move freshly laid eggs from the multi-tier cages toward the grading and packing area, minimising handling and reducing breakage.

Grading and packing

Each egg is graded by size and quality before being packed into standard 30-egg crates. This step ensures consistent product for every buyer, large or small.

Ventilation systems

Natural cross-ventilation complemented by mechanical fans keeps the barn environment within optimal temperature and humidity ranges throughout the year.

Feed and water systems

Automatic nipple-drinker lines and feed troughs run the length of each tier, providing continuous access to clean water and balanced layer feed.

Tiles badged “Real photo” are genuine stills from the on-site walkthrough footage. The remaining tiles are still placeholders pending photography of egg collection, grading & packing, and the ventilation plant. Descriptive alt text and aria-label attributes are in place so screen readers can convey each scene accurately once real photos are supplied.

Operations

About the facility

The Egg Farms operates a purpose-built layer facility designed from the ground up for commercial-scale egg production. The site uses multi-tier battery cage systems that allow a large flock to be housed in a compact, manageable footprint without compromising on hygiene or animal welfare.

Each tier is equipped with automatic nipple-drinker lines and feed troughs, ensuring hens have continuous access to clean water and a balanced, nutritionally complete layer diet. Regular feed audits and health checks are carried out to maintain consistent laying rates and egg quality throughout the production cycle.

The warehouse structure is metal-roofed with open sidewalls and supplemental mechanical ventilation, maintaining comfortable temperatures and low ammonia levels year-round — critical factors in both hen welfare and egg shell quality.

Eggs are collected daily via automated belts and immediately moved to the on-site grading and packing station, where they are sorted by size, inspected for cracks, and packed into standard 30-egg crates. Orders are dispatched within 24 hours of laying.
